💇 Double Booking or Booking an Appointment Where Another Appointment Already Exists

Sometimes you need to book an appointment at the same time as another — for example, when a color is processing or you’re accommodating a special client request. Here’s how to handle that easily in salonMonster.


🪜 Follow These Steps

Booking Over an Existing Appointment

  1. Open the Calendar

    Click on any available time slot on the desired day — even if it is outside of your working hours.

  2. Enter Appointment Details

    Select the client for whom you’re booking the appointment.

    Choose the service they’ll receive.

  3. Adjust the Start Time

    Select the dropdown with the start time in it right below the day and date of the appointment.

    Change it to the desired start time.

    Select Save.

    If a message appears saying the appointment overlaps, choose to continue — this will confirm the double booking.

  4. Send Booking Confirmation (Optional)

    You can choose whether or not to send a notification of the booking to the client.

  5. Review and Confirm

    Make sure the new appointment appears correctly alongside the existing one.

    If it was only a test booking, you can delete it by selecting Delete.


Creating a Gap Inside an Existing Appointment

  1. Select the Existing Appointment

    Open your calendar and click on the appointment you want to edit.

  2. Modify the Duration to Create a Gap

    Select Edit Service.

    Toggle on Bookback/Processing time.

    Adjust the durations. Be sure that the Process duration is set to be the length of the appointment you want to book inside it.

    Select Save.

  3. Book a New Appointment in the Gap

    Click inside the gap you just created.

    Choose the client (e.g. Aisha) and service (e.g. Short Haircut).

    Adjust the time so it fits neatly within the available space.

  4. Finalize the Appointment

    Review everything to confirm that the new booking sits properly between the other appointments.

  5. Complete the Booking

    Click Save to finish — your new appointment will now appear in the created gap.
